Strategic Writing Across the Curriculum in Grades 7-12

Writing, like reading, is an enabling skill that has a direct impact on academic proficiency — beyond English language arts, across academic subjects, and even beyond the classroom. To bring students up to speed, schools must implement schoolwide programs and standards in writing to improve students’ fluency and organization as well as their skills in writing for different purposes and audiences.
