Using Gold Seal Lessons to Improve Instruction This is a collection of 360 performance tasks in math, science and English language arts for grades K-4, 5-8, 9-12. The tasks are matched to the high-priority topics tested on states' assessments and to the skills needed by all students for future success. Each lesson contains a task, a scoring guide, and explicit links to standards and essential skills. These tasks also feature a correlation to the International Center's Rigor/Relevance Framework. This Framework uses the Knowledge Taxonomy, often referred to as Bloom's Taxonomy, and the Application Model to measure the rigor and relevance of curriculum objectives, test questions, and performance tasks. Many of the tasks require students to put their knowledge to use in new contexts, such as other disciplines and real-world, unpredictable situation. Teachers can use the Gold Seal Lessons to guide instruction and as resources to develop or expand lesson plans, student activities, and performance assessments.
